August 6, 2021 Update
F 8/6 update:
We’re 2 weeks post brain surgery (3 weeks rupture) and the daily progress is absolutely amazing! 🙏🏻💕
He passed the swallow test yesterday so he could start to eat real food. Since he did fine, they took out his feeding tube today. He’s going to get out of ICU tomorrow!
He started occupational and physical therapy since being extubated. The last 2 days I’ve been there during OT and it’s unbelievable how much stronger and more he can do today compared to yesterday!
He’s standing with a walker and can “shuffle”/step 2 steps sideways and forward. His grasp and movement with his left hand/arm is much stronger.💪🏼 He’s asked when he can go to the driving range and when he’ll be able to wear flip flops again! 🤪 Yip he wants to do this ultramarathon in them, while he’s relearning to walk! Go figure! 😉
We’re extremely fortunate to have our village and appreciate it more than you know!
