We are writing this on behalf of Mike McKeown (“Gow”) as he is known to his friends and family. Gow is known to many for his humor, love of the outdoors, music, family, and artistry. He is one of the hardest working people we know. He has been working in the trades doing everything from flooring to custom woodworking for close to 40 years. He is a well accomplished craftsman creating many unique features in homes including one of a kind cabinetry, banisters, and moldings. Woodworking is Gow’s passion, talent, and livelihood. His wife Bonnie is an occupational therapist who works tirelessly with autistic and special needs children. Together they are quite a special couple!
Gow and Bonnie recently drove from New York to Colorado to help with his mom who had suffered a stroke and fell fracturing her hip. Tragically, while there Gow also suffered a major stroke. It was an unbelievable event to say the least. He miraculously survived but has complications which could potentially result in another stroke. He is stable now but the rehabilitation will be lengthy. His ability to resume work is unclear and it is highly possible he will not be able to work for several months. Bonnie will be taking an extended leave from her job to help care for him and as a result will have limited income coming in. Gow is a much-loved family member, friend, and husband who would be the first person to come to somebody’s aid and help in any way he could if need be.
His friends and family have created this fundraiser to help Gow and Bonnie in their time of need. It is our intent to raise money to help with medical bills and other expenses for the immediate future.
Thank you for your generous contribution.
